Behind the Camera

I’ve always been fascinated by light and color.  In the late eighties and early nineties, I could often be found behind the plastic lenses of mail-in cereal box cameras or borrowing my dad’s shoulder-mount camcorder to film my little brothers, our dog, and the frogs in our nearby creek. (Dad did not appreciate that last one!) Also interested in painting and drawing I was fortunate to attain my Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Illustration from the College of Creative Studies, in Detroit, MI. Right away I fell into a career in 3D Computer Graphics, specializing in lighting and rendering. While I spent my days making pretty pictures of cars, however, capturing the beauty of the real world, people and nature continued to be a true passion. I’ve been doing portrait and event photography on and off for friends and family for over 20 years, and in the past few years have turned this hobby into a career. 

Nothing gives me more satisfaction than connecting with people through photography and videography, capturing moments of beauty, drama, humor and warmth. As a lucky husband and dad of two little girls, I particularly cherish the ability to document relationships and those precious milestones that seem to fly by so quickly.
